How to ensure optimal spread width

Spread width influences both production capacity and costs. Granule strength and bulk density must be kept in mind when choosing the right type of mineral fertilisers and correct spreader settings. Below we describe how to spread Acron granules evenly and share EU test results.

Optimal mineral fertiliser distribution

Granules with high strength and bulk density achieve the best distribution results.

Granule quality parameters for uniform distribution up to 36 metres:

•          Bulk density from 0.9 to 1 kg per litre

•          Granule strength from 1.5 N m to 4 N m

Acron carried out tests to assess product quality parameters.

Uniformity of NPK 16-16-16 distribution at 36 metres compared to the standard

Acron NPK achieved an excellent coefficient of variation (CV) of 4.3%. The difference between the standard and Acron's product is within the statistical margin of error.

* Uniform distribution width depends on:

For example, AMAZONE’s ZA-X spreader has a maximum distribution width of 18 metres, the ZA-V model distributes product up to 36 metres, and the ZA-TS distributes product up to 54 metres. The same fertiliser grade can be spread over different widths, depending on the spreader.

Seventy-one per cent of spreaders have a maximum spread width of 24 metres. All Acron products meet spreader requirements. Better fertiliser application can be achieved using correct unit settings.
